The Stade de France saw its fourth world best of 2014 this evening when the Netherlands’ Sifan Hassan stopped the clock at 3:57 dead to win the women’s 1500m at the MEETING AREVA. In doing so she also set a new Dutch record. The 21-year-old was followed home by the USA’s Jennifer Simpson, who ran a personal-best 3:57.22, and Kenya’s Hellen Obiri (3:58.89). Reigning world champion Abeba Aregawi of Sweden was tenth in 4:03.46.
Hassan too hot to handle
The Netherlands’ Sifan Hassan broke her country’s women’s 1500m record and posted the fastest time of the year in surging to victory at the MEETING AREVA.
